Organized by the Greek Yachting Association (GYA), MEDYS this year is extended to five days and will take place during May 4-8 in the coastal town of Nafplio in the Peloponnese. “The Chef’s Competition will provide a platform for some of Greece’s leading chefs to exhibit their culinary flair,” GYA said in an announcement. Luxury yacht gastronomy gurus will take center stage to show their excellent culinary skills as they compete for the title. The competition this year will also welcome two of Greece’s expert gastronomy professionals as judges: Angelos Lantos from Athens’ Spondi Restaurant, who is the first Greek chef to be awarded with two Michelin stars; and Thanos Stasinos, the executive chef of some of Greece’s and Europe’s top restaurants, who has a long experience in venues such as Nikkei Athens, Pacific in Monte Carlo and the Ritz Carlton in Valencia. Participants in the Chefs’ Competition will be invited to create a gourmet version of “Street Food” dishes, inspired by Greek or world cuisine. MEDYS’ gastronomy events will also include the “Tablescaping Competition”, which invites yacht crews to show their skills in preparing attractive table settings for special occasions. As every year, MEDSYS will also feature a wide range of yachts and provide information on the high-standard yachting services and amenities offered in Greece. Registration is currently open and can be made online. For more information visit the following website: www.mediterraneanyachtshow.gr.
