One of the largest and oldest tour operators in the United States, Collette Tours attracted a total of 110 sales executives, as well as tour operators from the US and Australia. During the event, which was held with the support of the South Aegean Region, they had the chance to discover the travel experiences offered on the Greek islands. “Our sales team returned home after an incredible week in Greece. It was a great chance for our members to learn more on this beautiful country and pass on their experience and knowledge to their customers,”, Collette Tours CEO Dan Sullivan Jr said, also adding that the tour operator plans to increase tourism flows to Mykonos, Santorini and the Cyclades islands in the next years. But we won’t stop here. We will build on this positive trend in order to benefit from this tourism market and its great potential,” said South Aegean Vice Governor for Tourism, Culture and Sports Marietta Papavasiliou. As part of its collaboration with Collette Tours, the South Aegean Region plans to host a future event of the US-based tour operator, on the Dodecanese islands. Meanwhile, the Region has also partnered with the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA), which selected the island of Rhodes as the host destination of the ASTA International Showcase event. Scheduled to take place between May 12-16, ASTA International Showcase is expected to attract 400 US tour operators to Rhodes.
