Titled “Pireas 2019”, the event will focus on the effects of the current challenges in politics and the economy for Greece’s shipping sector. Taking place for two days, “Pireas 2019” will include the Global Shipbrokers Forum on June 20, which will present the positive perspectives of the Greek shipping sector; and the Shipbrokers Gala Dinner, scheduled to take place on June 21. The organizers expect to attract more than 3,500 participants and attendees to Piraeus during the two-day event, among them shipowners, shipbrokers, maritime executives and decision makers from all over the world, who will exchange views, strengthen and/or extend existing collaborations, and explore new business opportunities. Meanwhile, according to the organizers, the event will be a unique opportunity for Greece to draw the attention of global media. “Pireas 2019” will be held under the auspices of the Greek Ministries of Shipping and Tourism, the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping, the University of Piraeus and the Aegean University among other organizations. The event is organized every two years by the Hellenic Shipbrokers Association since 1991.
