Thessaloniki to Blend Gastronomy and Tourism at FoodTreX 2019 Event

Ways of developing gastronomy tourism in Greece will be discussed during the FoodTreX Regional Food Travel Summit, which will take place on October 7 in Thessaloniki, northern Greece.

Launched by the World Food Travel Association (WFTA), the FoodTreX brand stands for ‘Food Travel Experience‘ and represents the association’s food and beverage travel trade events. The event is organized in Greece by tourism marketing companies Respond on Demand and Top Tourism.

The FoodTreX event will include keynote speeches by scientists and professionals from Greece, the UK, Italy and Singapore, including WFTA founder Erik Wolf. The speakers will focus on the development of gastronomy tourism through the practices of branding, marketing and storytelling.

Furthermore, the summit will feature an exhibition of Greek traditional products, as well as private tasting events.

The FoodTreX conference series by the WFTA is designed for food, beverage, travel and hospitality professionals, including destination marketers and governments; small business owners and entrepreneurs; marketing managers and strategists; branding, PR and advertising professionals; product developers; trainers and educators; bloggers; students forging their career path; and any other professionals with an interest in food and beverage tourism.

Based in the United States, the WFTA is a leading international authority on food tourism, followed by more than 30,000 opinion leaders and food entrepreneurs from around the world, who are interested in gastronomy and the production of local products. The WFTA aims to provide its members with opportunities through education and help them foster commercial relations.
