Hilton Athens to Serve Tastes of Spain for 10-day event

The Hilton Athens hotel is inviting all to experience the culture and gastronomy wealth of Spain during a 10-day event to be held in its Byzantino restaurant, in the heart of the Greek capital.

Hilton AthensTitled, “Spain on your plate”, the event will be held during June 7-16. 

“Spain is a leader in the quality of life, happiness and life expectancy of its citizens, with the Mediterranean diet, its golden summers and open, smiling people,” the hotel’s management said in an announcement.

For 10 days, the Byzantino restaurant will be transformed into a Spanish tapas bar with an impressive buffet, which will include traditional Spanish dishes from award-winning tapas masters Álvaro Villasante and Ager Urigüen.

These will include paella, gazpacho, patty tortilla, pulpo a la gallega, croquetas de jamón, fabada asturiana, cocido madrileño, callos, patatas a la riojana, pisto, chorizo ​​a la sidra, migas, gambas al ajillo, and delicious sweets such as leche frita, crema catalana, goxua, tarta de Santiago, and arroz con leche.

The wine list will consist of Rioja and Torres wines.

“We want to present the Spanish products in Greece and highlight their value,” said Álvaro García-Rosales Sanz, Commercial and Economic Affairs Director of the Embassy of Spain in Greece.

Dinner time at Byzantino will also include special surprises for guests, with flamenco dancers and live cooking.

The event is co-organized by Foods and Wines which belongs to ICEX Spain Trade & Investment.
