“The Alex” hotel

“The Alex” hotel, the fifth member of the Santikos Collection group, will open its doors on June 20 in the coastal area of Kastella in Piraeus and welcome guests to the Athenian Riviera.

The first city hotel of the Santikos Collection, the new property includes 33 rooms and a suite, and offers stunning views of Athens and Piraeus.

“The Alex’s opening turns the page for our group, creating a new collection of hotels for contemporary business travelers, also focusing on the area’s tourism market which is currently growing,” said Konstantinos Santikos, managing director of Santikos Collection.

“Our aim is to help Kastella and Mikrolimano become points of reference in the area of southeastern Europe. We are inspired by the vision of the late shipping magnate Aristotelis Onassis, who dreamed of creating the ‘Monte Kastella’,” he added.

Apart from high-end hospitality services, “The Alex” will also offer prime dining options. The hotel’s all-day café & bistrot, “The Botanist”, will operate on the ground floor, while the rooftop restaurant & bar, “The Nest”, will offer a unique view to the Athenian Riviera – including the Faliron bay – the Saronic gulf and Mount Parnitha.

“The Alex” also includes a private parking area, providing its visitors with easy access to the hotel’s facilities.

As announced by Santikos Collection, Maria Sougaraki has been appointed general manager of “The Alex”.

“Her long experience in the hospitality industry, as well as in our group, makes her ideal to lead our new endeavor,” the group said.

Santikos Collection also includes the Marpunta Resort on the island of Alonnisos, the Santikos Mansion in Pelion, and the Aegean Suites & Princess Resort, both located on Skiathos.
