Athens’ Megaron Welcomes Summer with Live Music in its Garden

The Athens “Megaron” Concert Hall is inviting the Greek capital’s residents and visitors to its summer live music nights, scheduled to take place in June and July in its garden, one of the city’s main green havens.

The live music nights kick off on June 5 with music and poetry by Greek artists Olia Lazaridou and Melina Tanagri. Events will continue on June 7 with a concert of renowned singers Leon of Athens and Irene Skylakaki.

On June 13, Megaron’s garden will host Greek American composer, instrumentalist and performer Nana Simopoulos, who will take  the audience on a musical journey to India, South America, Africa and Asia with her voice and the sounds of the citar, the guitar and bouzouki.

Furthermore, the Megaron will celebrate World Music Day on June 21, with a number of concerts and free admission. Events will start early in the evening with a concert by the Athens State Orchestra and continue with live performances by pianists Christos Marandos and Harald Ossberger, the Polyphonica choir and many others.

Among the artists to perform at the garden through to July 12, are Gadjo Dilo, Angelika Dusk and Doros Dimosthenous.

The Athens Megaron’s garden attracts residents and visitors all year round. Apart from hosting cultural events it is considered ideal for those who wish to enjoy a walk in nature or a picnic with family and friends.
