The data is from ELSTAT’s latest survey on the traffic of passengers, goods and mobile units (vehicles) at Greek ports. According to the data, total passenger traffic at Greek ports for the corresponding period of 2017-2016 was up by 9 percent. (See Table 1 & Graph 1.) Source: ELSTAT The total movements of goods at Greek ports in the October-December 2018 period increased by 5.8 percent, compared with the corresponding period of 2017. During the same period of 2017-2016, the total movements of goods increased by 1.9 percent. In regards to the total movement of mobile units (vehicles), ELSTAT’s data showed a 1.5 percent increase in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared to the fourth quarter of 2017, while during the 2017-2016 period the increase was 6.2 percent. Source: ELSTAT ELSTAT’s survey covers all merchant vessels of net tonnage 10 GRT and over which carry passengers goods and mobile units by sea to and from domestic and international ports for commercial purposes. Consequently fish-catching vessels, research and survey vessels,dredgers, naval vessels or vessels used solely for non-commercial purposes are not included in the survey.
