According to Air Transat, its mission is to meet travelers’ expectations and stand out for offering a warm and friendly experience at every step of the journey: booking, check-in, boarding, flight, welcome at destination and return from holiday. “This [award] is an acknowledgement of our personnel’s efforts, who, day after day, devote all of their energy and passion to providing our passengers with a memorable travel experience from the moment they begin dreaming of their vacation,” said Annick Guérard, Chief Operating Officer of Air Transat, while thanking the company’s 5,000 employees for their work and professionalism. The carrier currently offers some 60 point-to-point destinations in more than 25 countries. During flight, Air Transat provides gourmet meals from renowned Quebec chef Daniel Vézina and Club Class seating that combines comfort and personalized service. Gold Star Aviation is Air Transat’s official General Sales Agent (GSA) in Greece. The World Airline Awards began in 1999 when Skytrax launched its first global airline passenger satisfaction survey, which every year collects travelers’ opinions on 300 airlines over a nine-month period and in 100 countries. Airlines are ranked according to 40 criterias, from check-in and boarding to staff service and seat comfort. This year’s survey polled more than 21 million passengers worldwide.
