Attica’s Ramada Resort to Host Art Exhibition for Wildfire Victims

A year after the deadly fire in the coastal towns of northeastern Attica, the Ramada Athens Attica Riviera resort joins forces with over 45 painters, sculptors and photographers with the aim to support the wildfires’ victims.

The fires of July 23rd, 2018, in Mati, Zouberi, Nea Makri, Kallitechnoupoli, Neos Voutzas and Rafina cost the lives of at least 100 people and left hundreds injured.

Aiming to raise funds for the victims, the resort between July 20-26, will host a group exhibition titled “I live again”.

“The artists from the greater area of Nea Makri and Rafina wish to send a message of optimism and strength. Culture will operate as a healing power for the people that suffered severe burns and still live with the consequences. Culture can financially contribute to their rehabilitation,” an announcement said.

Some of the participant artists, including painter Fouli Mitsiali who is the exhibition’s inspirator, were severely affected by the wildfire, as they saw their homes and ateliers burn.

The exhibition will open on July 20, with a performance of Greek pianist Marios Strofalis, at the Ramada Athens Attica Riviera in Mati.

It will be open daily until July 26, from 10am to 2pm and from 6pm to 10pm.
