Konstantinos Loulis was born in Volos in 1955. In 1975 he undertook the management of the family company, Loulis Mills, which is one of the oldest flour factories in Greece with a history of over 230 years. During the 1990s, Loulis Mills expanded to the Balkan countries, namely to Romania, Bulgaria, and Albania. Loulis also opened bread, pasta and biscuit factories, as well as a chain of 100 bakeries. The total investment reached 250 million euros. During 1989-1991, Konstantinos Loulis served as Civil Governor of the Monastic State of Mount Athos. In 1990 he acquired “Thessalia”, a Volos-based daily newspaper and one of the oldest in Greece. During 1992-1994 he served as a member of the Board of Directors of Olympic Airways, and from 1998-2008 as a member of the finance committee of the Church of Greece. He is honorary consul of The Netherlands to Central Greece (Thessaly and Epirus). In 2007 he was awarded an honorary degree by the Kingston University. In the recent elections, he was elected municipal councilor in Volos. Loulis has been announced great benefactor of the Vatopedi Monastery and the “Ark of the World”, a non-governmental organization supporting mothers and children. He has published three books on history, the environment and stamps. Konstantinos Loulis is married and has five children and four grandchildren.
