Company updates Athens Airport Ready to Host 4th Plane Pull Fundraiser by GTP editing team 27 August 2019 written by GTP editing team 27 August 2019 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 14 Athens International Airport (AIA) will be hosting its 4th annual Plane Pull fundraiser on September 18, as part of its corporate social responsibility program with proceeds going towards the needs of the non-profit child welfare organization, the Smile of the Child (Hamogelo tou Paidiou). Companies are invited to participate with a 25- to 30-member team in the challenge, which will take place at AIA from 10am to 3pm and involves pulling a 35,000kg Air Mediterranean Boeing 737-400 jet for a distance of 20 meters. The cost of company participation has been set at 3,000 euros with the goal to contribute to the Smile of Child welfare activities for hundreds of children in need. Aiming to support the good cause, the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) is calling on all its members to get involved, set up their own company team or entering the SETE – INSETE – Marketing Greece team. Interested? Check out the 3rd AIA Plane Pull held in 2018 here. First launched in the US, the plane pull challenge is today held worldwide as a fundraising opportunity. The AIA fundraiser, to be held at the airport’s OA Hangar – end of Attiki Odos motorway to the airport, opposite the Athens Metropolitan EXPO Center – will be open to all. Awards will go to the fastest pullers, the slowest pullers, and the most enthusiastic team. Meanwhile, lending their support this year and testing their strength will be Olympic rowing medallist Vasilis Polymeros, and rowing champion Chrysa Biskintzi.
