According to an announcement, the visitors of TIF will have the chance to experience the potential of the first 5G mobile devices launched in Greece and connect to the pilot 5G high-speed network of telecommunications provider WIND. “The ‘magic’ of the 5G technology opens a new chapter in the history of the internet and significantly changes the way we communicate, work and entertain ourselves,” TIF-Helexpo, the fair’s organizer, said in an announcement. WIND’s 5G network will offer TIF’s visitors the opportunity to download files, view 4K videos and perform speed tests with the 5G devices of telecommunications equipment company Huawei. “The 5G technology is set to make a significant contribution to the digital transformation. It will bring new ideas for applications in smart cities and homes, driverless cars, smart agriculture and industry, virtual and augmented reality via mobile devices… 5G is coming to transform entire industries and offer the potential for a range of new services,” TIF-Helexpo said. The annual Thessaloniki International Fair is considered the largest business, political and trade event in Southeastern Europe that brings together professionals and buyers from across Greece and the broader region, representing a market of 100 million consumers.
