Established in 1980, Marine Tours currently constitutes the strategic travel partner of major shipping and corporate businesses. It first began providing travel services for shipping companies located around Piraeus’ port, and currently uses the Travelport Smartpoint to keep up-to-date with real-time content from over 400 of the world’s leading network airlines and low-cost carriers; more than 650,000 unique hotel properties and 36,000 car rental locations. “Our relationship with Marine Tours is living proof of how combining enlightened management with advanced technologies can become a foundation for a successful partnership. We’re proud to have played a role in the company’s success story, as technological partners and consultants; sharing wins and supporting the business through challenges, which is something we plan to continue doing for many more years to come,” Leonidas Zotos, Country Manager for Greece, Cyprus and Israel at Travelport, said in an announcement. With over 38 years of experience in the corporate travel industry, Marine Tours has relationships with more than 400 businesses, many of whom entrust it with the design and implementation of meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) programs. Furthermore, it has achieved one of the highest business rankings in Greece, becoming a top producer of international air tickets by IATA and achieving an annual turnover of more than €210 million. “Marine Tours’ travel services span across all sectors of the industry, both on a local and international basis. In addition to a dynamic and creative management structure and long-standing industry know-how, we owe our success to the state-of-the-art technological capabilities provided by Travelport… I look forward to seeing which milestones we will reach together in the future,” said Konstantinos Oikonomou, CEO of Marine Tours.
