The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) is supporting a number of gastronomy, sports and cultural events scheduled to take place in Athens, Thessaloniki and the Greek islands this autumn.

6th Corfu Beer Festival

The GNTO has set the 6th Corfu Beer Festival under its auspices, which is currently taking place in the area of Arrilas on the Ionian island until September 29.

Taking place under the theme, “Greece meets Holland”, the festival is a unique cultural and gastronomy event that looks to connect Corfu with the participating countries, as well as enhance the island’s tourism industry during the autumn months, support new business endeavors and promote local products.

17th Pancretan Exhibition

The 17th Pancretan Exhibition of Agriculture, Livestock & Traditional Products will be held with the support of GNTO in Phestos on Crete during September 26-29. The annual event will feature local products and services to promote the island’s culture, as well as establish Crete as a gastronomy and wine destination.

10th Catamarans Cup Ιnternational Regatta

Sports events are also on GNTO’s agenda this autumn, as the organization is once again supporting the 10th Catamarans Cup International Regatta. Scheduled to take place between October 19-26, the regatta this year will host crews from 18 countries. Its route map includes Alimos, Poros, Spetses, Astros and Nafplio.

“It is a unique event combining fun racing with a relaxing holiday week on the Greek islands, as parallel events are held during each stop,” GNTO said.

4th Thessaloniki International Contemporary Art Fair

The GNTO is also supporting the 4th “Art Thessaloniki International Contemporary Art Fair”, an event which will be held at the city’s International Exhibition and Congress Center during November 21-24.

Considered one of the most important art events in Southeast Europe, the fair this year will host Greek American actor and painter Billy Zane as its Honored Artist.

The fair will host a total of 38 art galleries from Greece, Europe, Asia and the US, aiming to ideally combine commerce with art.

In cooperation with the Museum of Drawing Skopje, the fair will also host the “Unexpected Dialogue”-Picasso & Jankulovski exhibition, which includes Pablo Picasso ceramic works and Mice Jankulovski paintings. Other exhibitions on display include the N. Vernikos Collection, artworks of the famous artist Dennis Oppenheim (1938-2011); and the Papadimitriou Collection, 24 artworks of a collection of 80’s artists.
