Attending the first day of France’s international travel and tourism trade fair IFTM Top Resa 2019 in Paris, Minister Theoharis kicked off his visit with many meetings on his agenda. During his talks with leading French tourism representatives, the minister referred to the prospects of Greek tourism and the initiatives taken by the Greek government and the Tourism Ministry for the sector’s further sustainable development. “The strategic goal is to increase the added value by boosting the average expenditure by attracting high-income visitors and highlighting and promoting other than the already known Greek tourism destinations,” Minister Theoharis noted to the tourism professionals. Accompanied by the secretary general of the Greek National Tourism Organization, Dimitris Fragakis, the minister toured the Greek stand and held discussions with the Greek exhibitors. Speaking to foreign media outlets, the minister focused on promoting the comparative advantages of the Greek tourism product, the ministry’s planning for the next decade, the Greece’s infrastructure and the prospects for the country’s tourism. Organized by Reed Exhibitions, IFTM Top Resa’s 41st edition will run at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles by October 4.
