Hospitality Greek Hotels Top GRI Satisfaction Index in August by GTP editing team 1 October 2019 written by GTP editing team 1 October 2019 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 21 Greek hotels hold the top position in terms of quality and services on the Global Review Index (GRI) of August, remaining in first place again with a score of 86.9 percent followed by Croatia (84.8 percent), and Cyprus (85.3 percent), Spain and Italy (84.4 percent), according to data released this week by the Greek Tourism Confederation’s (SETE) intelligence body INSETE. Greece’s main competitor Turkey recorded a general satisfaction rate of 81.1 percent, while France came last with a score of 77.8 percent. The Cyclades islands were in the lead in Greece in terms of satisfaction with a GRI of 89.7 percent while the Epirus region on the mainland recorded the highest rate at 90.8 percent, Created by ReviewPro, the Global Review Index (GRI) is an industry-standard online reputation score used by hotels worldwide as a benchmark for reputation management. The score is based on review data collected from 175 online travel agencies (OTAs) and review sites in more than 45+ languages. INSETE data also reveals a 4.4 percent increase in the number of passengers going through Greek airports in August and a 3.7 percent rise over the January-August period to 15.8 million passengers. Athens welcomed 4.4 million visitors, up by 11.7 percent, and Thessaloniki 1.6 million, up by 7.4 percent. Incoming traffic by road also grew by 9.8 percent in August offsetting the previous months’ decline. In terms of tourism revenue, July travel receipts increased by 11.1 percent to 3,645 million euros and by 13.6 percent in the January-July period to 9,154 million euros. According to Trivago data, top source markets for Greece, in August were Italy, the UK, Germany, France and Serbia. Greek travelers, meanwhile, chose Parga, Chania, Skiathos Town, Skopelos and Nafplio as the top 5 destinations in August, followed by Naxos Town, Kalamata, Skala (Agistri island), Hanioti (Halkidiki) and Tinos town.
