Event News SETE 2019 Conference Aims to Spark Innovation in Greek Tourism by GTP editing team 14 October 2019 written by GTP editing team 14 October 2019 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 12 The concepts of sustainable development, innovation and experience, in the context of the ever-changing global travel market conditions that affect Greek tourism, will be developed at the annual conference of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) on October 17 in Athens. Scheduled to take place at the Hilton Athens Hotel, the annual conference titled “Redefining Realities: #someREACTdifferent” will host an impressive lineup of tourism’s highest achievers worldwide who will provide insight, aiming to inspire innovative ideas. Speakers at the conference will also focus on passing on best practices for destination management and strategic tourism development. SETE’s conference will host three sessions and is expected to host some 500 tourism professionals, government executives, global experts, young talents and start-up companies. The speakers of this year’s event include Patrik Gustavsson, general manager of the Amager Bakke Foundation; Douglas Quinby, co-founder and CEO of Arival; Steve Lowy, co-founder of Umi Digital and CEO of Anglo Educational Services; Catharina Fischer, social media/online strategist, entrepreneur, mentor and speaker; and Alejandro Barrera, founder and editor-in-chief of The Aleph; Tia Hallanoro, director of Brand Communications & Digital Development, Helsinki Marketing; Ted Papakostas, archaeologist; Petra Stušek, CEO of Ljubljana Tourism; Steve Vranakis, former Executive Creative Director Google Creative Lab; and Dianne McGrath, director of Food For Thought Consulting / Mars One Astronaut Candidate. The conference will be moderated once again by Paul Papadimitriou, founder of Intelligencr and innovation researcher and expert on future strategies. Masterclasses Two masterclasses will be taking place during the conference that are open to delegates. Masterclass 1: ‘Employer Branding – A Deep Dive from Culture to Recruitment’ After inspiring the audience of SETE’s conference last year, David Bizer, founder and CEO of Talent Fountain, will return with a masterclass on employer branding, during which he will share hands-on experience of how an employer becomes a brand by attracting the most talented employees. Masterclass 2: ‘Ηow to approach the German market online’ Digital Marketing Strategist Catharina Fischer will highlight alternative ways of approaching the German market through digital tools. Tech Alley for Greek start-ups Also, on the sidelines of the conference, SETE will introduce its first “Tech Alley”, an exhibition space dedicated to Greek start-up companies, which gives them the opportunity to present technology services and products to the Greek tourism market’s entrepreneurs and executives. The conference will take place with the collaboration of marketing destination agency Toposophy and weareJARVIS, the content studio of technology hub Found.ation.
