The Electra Hotels & Resorts is actively participating in the events for the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October.

The aim of the initiative is to increase awareness of the disease and raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.

Under the motto, “We inform you and your friend”, Electra Hotels, on October 23, held an event on the prevention of the disease and urged its female employees to attend and also bring a friend.

Among the conference’s speakers were Radiotherapist and Oncologist Ioannis Skarlatos, Clinical Dietitian Konstantinos Xenos, and Clinical Psychologist Irini Dimopoulou.

All three scientists stressed that multi-sided information on breast cancer is key to prevention.

“Our employees’ increasing interest offers hope for the incorporation of prevention [measures] into the lives of women and gives us the green light to continue introducing similar actions,” the group’s management said in an announcement.

The Electra Group is also encouraging its female employees to consider having a digital mammography and is offering a special discount for the examination, in collaboration with the REA Maternity Hospital in Athens.

Established in 1965, Electra Hotels & Resorts operates five hotels in Athens, Thessaloniki and on the island of Rhodes.

Its newest addition, the Electra Metropolis hotel, located in the center of the Greek capital, opened its doors in 2016.
