This unique characteristic, along with the natural, cultural and monumental wealth, turn Greece into one of the top destinations worldwide, as the last years show. This success, however, does not put the people of Greek tourism at ease. We know very well that in a demanding world market, affected by digital revolution, climate change, demographic shifts and geopolitical events we need to be in a constant state of adapting. And that is exactly what we are doing by investing in quality: we offer an attractive and competitive value for money experience to our visitors. In just two years, 2017 and 2018, €1.6 billion was spent to renovate and upgrade our hotel units. At the same time, we enrich the product thematically. Greece offers an endless list of choices for 365 days a year. From city breaks to exploring the countryside, from the seaside to the mountains, tourism comes in many forms and styles: it can be cultural, gastronomic, religious or congressional. It can revolve around health, sports and well-being or it can be luxury. As Greece turns the page after a 10-year economic crisis, public and private investments in infrastructure will contribute significantly to the – already high – added value of the touristic product, with positive results in keeping different kinds of destinations sustainable. Finally, we aim to be a “smart destination for smart travelers” on a steady basis. Technology allows every visitor to seek a customized experience, based on their own needs and interests. Therefore, our goal is to constantly innovate and utilize new technologies so that every visitor can easily, quickly and in a simple manner compose, piece by piece, their ideal journey in Greece.
