Elounda Hills, a 410-million-euro tourism investment project to be constructed at Agios Nikolaos on Crete, is one step closer to implementation after a joint-ministerial decision was signed this week.

Once the plans are approved by the Council of State, Mirum Hellas can begin construction on the ambitious project, which will include a five-star, 200-bed hotel, reportedly run under the Four Seasons or Fairmont brand, holiday villas, sports and wellness facilities and a 202-boat marina designed with a capacity to handle larger recreational vessels.

The high-end resort project on Mirabello Bay is expected to create 600 new jobs during the construction phase and an additional 763 permanent positions as well as multiple seasonal employment during its operation.

Mirum Hellas belongs to luxury residential and holiday property developer Mirum Group, which is owned by Vitaly Borisov. The Russian-interest group invests in luxury holiday communities.

Construction on the environmentally-friendly resort village is slated to begin in the fall of 2020.
