During his speech, the deputy minister said the tourism ministry aimed to redefine and substantially upgrade tourism education in Greece. He added that a groundbreaking draft bill for tourism education is under preparation. The deputy tourism minister also made a special reference to illegal guided tours by individual lacking adequate education and training. He said that the ministry intended to step up checks at sites, as such practices have a negative impact on Greek tourism. As announced in September by Konsolas, one more tourist guide school will open on Crete.
