In its 26th year, the WTA were launched to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry. Each year, WTA covers the globe with a series of regional gala ceremonies staged to recognise and celebrate individual and collective success within each key geographical region. The World Travel Awards (WTA) Grand Final Gala Ceremony for 2019 took place in Muscat, Oman, and attended by leading travel industry figureheads and decision-makers. Athens-based Mideast Travel won the title of the World’s Leading Destination Management Company for the second year in a row. The award was received by Mideast Travel’s managing director, Katerina Mousbeh and general manager, Maria Mousbeh. “Our distinction as World’s Leading Destination Management Company 2019 from the World Travel Awards marks a historic first for our company, as this year we came first in Greece, Europe and the world,” Katerina Mousbeh said when she received the award. The company in June was honored with the titles of Europe’s Leading Destination Management Company for the second consecutive year and Greece’s Leading Destination Management Company for the fifth time. “It is a great honor for Mideast Travel to welcome the new year with three worldwide recognition awards. Of course, these awards are dedicated to our precious team, the Mideast ‘family’, as without their contribution we would not be here today,” Mousbeh said. Mideast Travel was the only Greek company in the “World’s Leading Destination Management Company” category. “We also owe our distinctions to the love, trust and dedication of our loyal and permanent customers over the years. All of you motivate us to continue with even more strength next year,” she added. The awards won this year by Mideast Travel, singled the company out of a number of global travel giants and reflected its important position in the industry on a national, European and international level. The WTA brand is recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire.
