According to KLM, the new lounge provides outstanding service, offering visitors an unforgettable experience, new food and beverage ideas, as well as innovative technologies. Located between the E and F piers at Schiphol, the Crown Lounge’s capacity has doubled in size and now covers an area of 6,800 square meters with about a thousand full-free-service seats. The “KLM House” is immediately noticeable by its illuminated glass wall adorned with some five thousand Delft blue miniature houses. Visitors to the lounge take the escalator to the top and embark on a journey back in time past the iconic World Business Class gifts. Personal lounge assistants welcome them into the house. The white marble lounge desk takes the shape of a giant KLM logo and the lounge offers a great view of the runways, piers, and the KLM fleet in the background. The new lounge also offers showers, paid sleeping cabins; virtual reality cabins; a terrace overlooking the runways; online lounge guide and self-service kiosks. “The KLM Crown lounge is a high-quality rest stop for our best customers. Whether you are departing, arriving, or transferring flights, you will be very well rested here. The whole design and our KLM staff’s customer friendly approach is dedicated to this,” said Boet Kreiken, Executive Vice President of KLM Customer Experience. What is more, there are about two hundred exclusive seats in the Blue Bar and Restaurant with equally exclusive levels of service, while KLM has worked with the architectural firm ‘concrete’ to design five different “Dutch landscapes” and meet the varied wishes and needs of its customers. The five landscapes are the Polder, City, Sea, Dutch Mountain and Sky. The Crown Lounge is open daily from 4.45am until the last KLM flight departs.
