The forum took place earlier in December, during the Med Travel Expo, an event dedicated to medical and health-related services and technologies, held as part of the Russian Health Care Week. The Greek Health Tourism Forum hosted representatives of medical and wellness centers, leading hotel units and thalassotherapy / spa centers in Greece. “GNTO presented the thermal springs and the potential of Greece’s spa resorts and thermal complexes and highlighted the options offered for the rehabilitation of Russian cosmonauts,” the organization said. During the event, the Ambassador of Greece to Moscow Ekaterini Nasika informed Russian travelers planning to visit Greece for medical reasons that where ever they choose to visit, “the sea is always close”, ready to welcome them so that they can live the experience. “We organize our vacations in order to have a good time and achieve wellness. This doesn’t always need to include a medical intervention. Sometimes, a special treatment, a beautiful landscape, a clear atmosphere and healthy diet is enough,” Nasika said. Τhe Med Travel Expo hosted over 140 companies and organizations from 19 countries, while the Russian Health Care Week included over 1,000 exhibitors from 37 countries. The expo was attended by more than 30,000 visitors.
