Culture Minister Lina Mendoni met this week with Central Macedonia Region Governor Apostolos Tzitzikostas to finalize the details of the projects, which include the creation of cultural routes expected to create value added for the region. “Central Macedonia has tremendous cultural wealth and through the institution of cultural routes, which will be thematic and chronological, we can achieve the promotion of important monuments that will serve as the links of these routes,” said Mendoni. Photo: © Regional Division of Serres Projects to be restored under the current 10-million-euro funding program are located in the regional units of Imathia, Thessaloniki, Kilkis, Pella, Pieria, Serres, and Halkidiki, and include the creation of a museum dedicated to Apostle Paul in Veria, restoration of the Rotunda in Thessaloniki, and the creation of culture routes at Amphipolis, among others.
