Air Travel Aer Lingus Adds Direct Dublin – Rhodes Route for Summer 2020 by GTP editing team 23 December 2019 written by GTP editing team 23 December 2019 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 42 Aer Lingus, the flag carrier of Ireland, recently announced its first direct route from Dublin to the island of Rhodes in Greece, taking off in May 2020. “We are delighted to announce our first service to Rhodes… We have focused on delivering Europe’s most popular sun destinations as part our summer schedule next year,” Aer Lingus Chief Commercial Officer David Shepherd said. Aer Lingus’ Dublin to Rhodes summer service commences from 23 May until 12 September 2020 and will be operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft twice weekly. “The addition of Rhodes along with our existing service to Athens really opens up Greece and the Greek islands to Irish holidaymakers,” Shepherd added. The unveiling of the Rhodes route follows the announcement of two new Dublin routes to cities Brindisi, Puglia and Alghero, Sardinia, the addition of direct flights from Shannon to both Paris and Barcelona and the Cork-Dubrovnik service moving from two flights per week to three flights per week. In addition Aer Lingus is also set to open up even greater capacity on its transatlantic network from Summer 2020. Summer 2020 will see Aer Lingus’ highest ever capacity to North America with more seats on sale to transatlantic destinations.
