Company updates TUI: Greece, Spain and Egypt Top Choices for German Travelers in 2020 by GTP editing team 10 January 2020 written by GTP editing team 10 January 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 19 Greece, Spain and Egypt are among the favorite holiday destinations of German travelers for 2020, TUI Germany announced this week. According to TUI, Spanish destinations -including Mallorca – are in higher demand this year compared to 2019. Other popular summer destinations are Greece, Italy and Egypt. Meanwhile, TUI said domestic travel and trips to neighboring Austria were also in high demand. In addition, long-distance travel is gaining ground with the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, the Maldives and the US among Germans’ top choices. Sustainability and special experiences According to TUI, German travelers are looking for special and individual experiences for their holidays this year. “Our guests are booking even more sustainable excursions that protect the environment or benefit the local population. Over 9 million TUI holidaymakers are already spending their holidays in hotels with sustainability certification,” said Stefan Baumert, managing director of TUI Germany. In addition to sustainability, individuality is also an increasingly important factor for German vacationers. “Our guests seek for tailor-made travel experiences and services. Instead of standard solutions, more individual services are required, such as a special place for a gastronomy experience, a single transfer, the room of your choice in the hotel, and participation in a sporting or cultural event,” Baumert added. Excursions and activities on site are the most frequently booked products via “My TUI” app. TUI plans to expand its range of excursions, activities and events next summer by adding 20,000 new activities for a total of more than 150,000 products.
