When asked on the new markets Greece is aiming to attract, the minister referred to China, India and Saudi Arabia. “These markets bring in tourists that are big spenders, but we are also looking towards the United States and Europe, who can offer us even more,” the minister said. According to Theoharis, messages for the 2020 Greek tourism season from the markets where the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) has offices are also positive. “The messages are cautiously optimistic, and we believe that with coordinated and cautious actions we can boost the increase in the quality of tourist flow and revenue we had last year,” he said.
