Air France in summer 2020 will directly connect Paris with Thessaloniki in northern Greece through a new route to launch in July, the airline announced on Tuesday.

Thessaloniki is one of the three new Greek destinations the airline has added to its summer 2020 schedule, along with Santorini and Mykonos. The Paris-Thessaloniki, Paris-Santorini and Paris-Mykonos routes will all launch on July 13 and run until August 30.

Air France’s flight AF1038 will depart from Paris-Charles de Gaulle on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 7:30am to arrive in Thessaloniki at 11:30am. The return flight AF1039 will depart from Thessaloniki at 12:20pm to arrive in Paris at 2:30pm.

“With this new flight to and from Thessaloniki, Air France will now be offering 45 flights a week and KLM 14, in addition to the summer flights to and from the regional airports of France, Nice, Toulouse, Marseille, and Bordeaux, also including the Heraklion – Marseille route,” Yiannis Pantazopoulos, regional manager of the Air France-KLM Group in Athens, said, adding that Air France will be operating a total of 11 flights per week for the high summer season with Airbus A320s.

Air France’s Paris – Santorini route will operate every Wednesday and the Paris – Mykonos route will run on Mondays and Tuesdays.

“Both Air France and KLM have been present in Greece for many years, supporting Greek tourism, business and commercial traffic between the countries,” Pantazopoulos said, underlining that with the new routes, the group demonstrates its confidence in both the Greek market and the country’s tourism.

In 2020 Air France will offer 16 new routes:
From Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Krakow (Poland), Faro (Portugal), Alicante, Malaga, Seville and Valencia (Spain), Djerba (Tunisia), Mykonos, Santorini and Thessaloniki, Monrovia (Liberia)
From Paris-Orly to Madrid (Spain), Munich (Germany), Ibiza (Spain), Algiers (Algeria)
From French destinations: Brest and Calvi
