Coordinated actions and public-private partnerships are at the top of private Greek tourism promotion body Marketing Greece’s 2020 strategy, dedicated to further enhancing the performance and results of the Greek tourism sector.

A joint initiative of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) and the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HCH), Marketing Greece implemented a series of campaigns in 2019 for the promotion of destinations countywide including “Oh My Greece”, “Opa” “#Share Your Greece” as well as  digital campaigns for Rhodes, Chania, Kos, and many other areas.

“Synergies and alliances are a strategic choice for Marketing Greece and will continue to be an important area of action in 2020. We have often stressed that tourism is a matter that concerns us all, and developing alliances, both with the private and public sectors, lays the groundwork for the design and implemention of greater and more effective actions,” said Ioanna Dretta, CEO Marketing Greece.

According to Marketing Greece, 2019 was a fruitful year, thanks to strong and far-reaching collaborations among more than 60 partners “with a shared vision” setting the foundations for the development of new, modern, and even more effective models of cooperation with both local tourism communities and the wider private sector.

“In view of the 2019 results, we can confidently say that the tourism industry has not only realized the value of cooperation but is now its main goal. And this is a very encouraging message for the future of Greek tourism,” added Dretta.
