Company updates GNTO, Mastercard Promote Greece in US and UK Markets by GTP editing team 5 February 2020 written by GTP editing team 5 February 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 6 The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and MasterCard have announced a new joint communication campaign to promote Greece as the ultimate travel destination to the markets of the United States and the United Kingdom. The main aim of the partnership is to boost Greece’s reputation as an all year round tourism destination through the promotion of the country’s beauty, variety of unique travel choices and offered experiences. This is the first time the GNTO is joining forces with the Mastercard brand, one of the top worldwide labels for debit. “This is a strategic partnership, which strengthens the position of our tourism product in international markets,” said GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis. Mastercard, having a wide payment network and drawing on its extensive experience in data processing and analysis, has developed solutions for the tourism industry that optimize tourism activity without burdening local communities. “We place great importance on launching partnerships with strong ‘players’ in the global market, just as our country and its tourism product deserve,” Fragakis added. The campaign includes the platform https://visitgreekdestinations.com/ through which consumers can select travel offers to Greek destination throughout the year. Mastercard cardholders will also have the chance to gain exclusive privileges and offers that have been designed to boost the effectiveness of the campaign. The GNTO-Mastercard tourism campaign for Greece will be communicated through digital media (Programmatic display, Google search, native ads, social networks). “Greece is a top tourism destination worldwide and a place full of beauties, colors and priceless experiences,” said Aspa Palimeri, Mastercard Country Manager for Greece, Cyprus and Malta, adding that the company is proud to join forces with the GNTO to help promote Greece abroad. “Through this joint effort, we are supporting one of the most important pillars of our economy,” Palimar added. Already running, the campaign will last for four months until May 31. The GNTO’s partnership with Mastercard is part of Greece’s tourism campaign for the 2020 season, which launched in January.
