Awards Greece Announced Most Popular Destination at OTM India Awards 2020 by GTP editing team 7 February 2020 written by GTP editing team 7 February 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 8 Greece was announced “Most Popular Destination” at the OTM India Awards 2020 ceremony, held on the sidelines of the Outbound Travel Market (OTM) India travel trade show in Mumbai. The awards honored leading tourism agencies and national tourism organizations for their contribution to the industry. “This international distinction of Greece in the significant Asian market confirms the positive prospects for the increase of inbound tourism from India, on the back of a 30 percent rise in tourism arrivals from the country in 2019,” the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) said in an announcement. Greece’s award for Best Destination was received by the head of the GNTO Department of Audiovisual Media and Productions, Eleftheria Fili, from India’s secretary general for tourism, Yogendra Tripathi. OTM took place in Mumbai during February 3-5 with the participation of tourism companies and professionals from all over the world. The GNTO participated in the expo with five co-exhibitors including the Hellenic Association of Travel & Tourist Agencies (HATTA), travel agents and hospitality units. During the exhibition, a special destination presentation on Greece was given by the GNTO’s Eleftheria Fili to the exhibitions attendees. Moreover, Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis held a number of meetings with state officials and travel professionals to strengthen the tourism relations between Greece and India.
