Early bookings from Switzerland to Greece for the 2020 summer season have increased by a strong 30 percent compared to the previous year, according to data provided by the leading Swiss tour operators to the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO).

According to an announcement by the GNTO, Greece this year is among the preferred destinations of Swiss travelers with travel organizers and airlines significantly expanding their programs both in number of beds and in seats from all Swiss airports.

The data was released on the sidelines of the FESPO 2020, the largest holiday fair in Switzerland that ran this year earlier this month.

The GNTO participated in the fair with a stand that included coexibitors such as the Region of the Ionian Islands and the municipalities of Volos-Pelion and Paros.

According to the GNTO, every year more than 500,000 Swiss travelers come to Greece.

“The Swiss are interested in discovering new Greek destinations that can offer unique experiences and nature activities,” the organization said.
