More than 4,000 runners will participate in the 6th Lycabettus Run, the prime racing event that takes place annually on the hill of Lycabettus, near the center of the Athens.

The race will be held on February 23 and has attracted the participation of professional and amateur athletes, with 10 percent of them coming from abroad.

The 6th Lycabettus Run includes a 5.5- and a 11km route in asphalt; a  4.5- and a 9km route in dirt road; and the 11km Lycabettus Relay which includes four laps and will be conducted on the Lycabettus ring road.

All races will start and finish at the St. George Lycabettus Lifestyle Hotel, a  supporter of the event.

The 6th Lycabettus Run is organized by My Sportevent and held under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO).

“It is a special racing event that significantly contributes to promoting Greece as the ideal sports tourism destination, and Athens as a city break destination offering numerous options for culture activities and entertainment, and the opportunity to attend or participate in international sports events,” the GNTO said.

Part of the registration’s proceeds will be donated to ELPIDA Youth, a branch of the ELPIDA Association of Friends of Children with Cancer, that aims to raise awareness about and support the psychological wellbeing of children suffering from neoplastic diseases.
