Company updates Minoan Lines’ Kydon Palace Ferry Connects Chania with Piraeus by GTP editing team 17 February 2020 written by GTP editing team 17 February 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 9 Minoan Lines now connects the port of Piraeus with Chania on Crete with its eco-friendly “Kydon Palace” ferry. “[With this route,] Minoan Lines honors the history of Chania – the former Minoan city of Kydonia, that took its name from its founder Kydon,” the company said in an announcement. The ferry departs from Piraeus at 4pm and returns from the port of Souda in Chania at 11.59pm. Worth 75 million euros, the cruise ship has been in service for 19 years. It operates at a speed of 31.50 knots and has a capacity for 2,500 passengers during summer or 2,448 in winter, 758 beds, 700 passenger cars or 113 trucks and 100 cars. “The eco-friendly ‘Kydon Palace’ cruise ferry is the newest, fastest luxury ferry on the Chania route, offering a high level of onboard services, luxury, comfort and a unique travel experience to passengers, as well as quality transport for vehicles and cargo,” the company said. Kydon also features luxury hotel equipment such as modern cabins, self-service and à la carte restaurants, bars, a pool, a congress center and mall, and state-of-the-art safety and navigation systems.
