Culture Minister Lina Mendoni recently met with Deputy Tourism Minister Manos Konsolas and agreed to finalize in March the agreement, which is based on a memorandum signed in 2018 and foresees the creation of a master plan that will address over the next two decades a series of issues affecting the Medieval City. Photo source: Visit Greece Others issues covered by the deal include the scope of studies, the timeframe of projects, as well as identifying works and actions to be implemented over the next 20 years. The Medieval City was inscribed by UNESCO as a world heritage site in 1988. Other subjects addressed include funding, which will be covered jointly by the ministries of culture, tourism, and shipping, the South Aegean Region, the Rhodes municipality, and EU packages.
