Trade Associations - Gov Greece and Egypt Look to Target Long-haul Markets Together by GTP editing team 20 February 2020 written by GTP editing team 20 February 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 22 Greece and Egypt on Friday explored ways to establish a joint tourism cooperation in order to attract more tourists to both countries from long-haul markets. The announcement came following a meeting in Athens between Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis and his Egyptian counterpart, Dr Khaled Ahmed El-Enany. Aiming to attract more visitors long-haul markets, the two ministers agreed to begin contacts with companies, hotels and other entities in order to promote a joint travel product to overseas countries such as the United States and Australia. Moreover, the two sides agreed to set up a bilateral cooperation committee; jointly organize B2B seminars and workshops; and also explore possibilities to create new cruise routes to attract passengers to both Greece and Egypt. Dr Khaled Ahmed El-Enany invited the Greek tourism minister to Egypt in order to further promote bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Egypt’s Ambassador to Greece Ismail Ahmed Khairat also attended the meeting.
