Under the theme “Action with Vision”, the four-day event will bring together state officials and senior tourism executives from around the world to discuss a series of topics, including the development prospects of tourism as one of the key drivers of the economy. The sector’s challenges and competitiveness prospects will also be analyzed. Discussions will also focus on ways to reposition the Greek tourism brand and enhance the added value of the people behind the country’s tourism product. The forum’s main speakers include Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis and Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) President Angela Gerekou. A panel discussion will also take place during the forum with Mitsis Hotels President Christina Mitsis, HotelBrain Founder and President Panos Paleologos and Lampsa CEO Anastasios Chomenidis. Sustainable tourism development In addition, the innovative activities that could drive Greece towards a more sustainable future will be focused on by Sani-Ikos Director of Sustainability and CSR Eleni Andreadis, Team Leader of the Sustainable Top 100 Martina Catte, British Slow Food Movement President Shane Holland, Travel Foundation CEO Jeremy Sampson and HVS Director Paul Papadimitriou. Another interesting session to take place will analyze the ways that digital skills and technology innovation can support tourism growth in Greece. The panel will include Maria Fouda, Google Marketing General Manager for Greece, Romania, Ukraine and Strategy Manager for Central & Eastern Europe; Aspa Palimeri, Country Manager, Greece, Cyprus & Malta at Mastercard; Joe Fuster, Vice President of Marketing Oracle; and Thanasis Liakopoulos, Senior Consultant at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. The 5th Delphi Economic Forum will host approximately 600 speakers from 35 countries.
