Sport events 4th Messinia Pro-Am Attracts Golfers from 20 Countries by GTP editing team 26 February 2020 written by GTP editing team 26 February 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 16 4th Messinia Pro-Am, The Dunes Course, Costa Navarino Professional and amateur athletes from a total of 20 countries took part in the 4th Messinia Pro-Am golf tournament, held at The Dunes Course and The Bay Course of Costa Navarino in the Peloponnese, during February 19-22. The event was co-organized by the Confederation of Professional Golf (CPG), under the auspices of PGA of Greece and the Hellenic Golf Federation. “The award-winning golf courses hosted 50 teams of golfers that enjoyed playing amongst centuries-old olive trees with a unique view to the Ionian Sea and the historic gulf of Navarino,” the organizers said in an announcement said. Participants at the 4th Messinia Pro-Am included renowned German goalkeeper Sepp Maier and American golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. Robert Trent Jones Jr. The winners At the Strokeplay individual competition, professional golf players claimed the total prize pool of 50,000 euros. Asaf Cohen (PGA of Israel) with 134 points (8 under par) won the tournament. Michele Reale (PGA of Italy) won second place, while Raphael de Sousa (PGA of Switzerland) and Alexander Verschaeren (PGA of Luxembourg) finished in third place. The team of André Bossert (PGA of Switzerland) won the Team Pro-Am event with his team consisting of amateurs Richard Dillon, Dorian Huber and Iban Soroa. Second place went to Asaf Cohen with golfers Igor Pyatiagorsky, Jospeh Levy και Mendy Elbaz, while third place was won by Armin Posratschnig (PGA of Austria) with Manfred Kepold, Reinhard Krämmer and Christian Schmid. The Messinia Pro-Am Winning team receiving their awards The 4th Messinia Pro-Am, again this year supported the SOS Children’s Villages Greece through a charity bowling event held at The Westin Resort Costa Navarino, titled “A Good Cause to Strike”. AEGEAN was the tournament’s official carrier. Hertz and Kyvernitis Travel were among the event’s official sponsors, while Athens International Airport (AIA) was among the tournament’s supporters. The Greek Travel Pages (GTP) was among the event’s communication sponsors. The 5th Messinia Pro-Am will take place at Costa Navarino from November 24-27, 2021.
