In its fifth edition, the awards honored companies that promote responsible entrepreneurship and invest in sustainable development. The hotel received the gold award in the Business and Local Community Partnership category for its “Room2Give” CSR initiative. Kallichoron Art Boutique Hotel “Travelers are seeking, not only for a place to stay, but an overall hospitality experience that won’t impact the environment, will benefit the local society and offer interaction with the locals, the destination and its traditions. For us, this has become a way of life,” said Kallichoron Co-founder and Hotel Manager Carolina Alkalai during the awards ceremony. Kallichoron’s Maria Mavroudi and Carolina Alkalai “This distinction actively confirms the high level of hospitality we offer to the visitors of Astypalea through innovative services, also putting emphasis on the principles of sustainability, social cohesion, love and passion for what we do,” added Maria Mavroudi, co-founder of Kallichoron. Launched five years ago, Kallichoron’s “Room2Give’ program supports initiatives focusing on Astypalea’s children and young people. Among its offerings are a scholarship program for tourism studies and a summer program for students of higher education. Furthermore, “Room2Give” supports the operation of the island’s lending library. Hellenic Responsible Business Awards 2020 – The winners The Hellenic Responsible Business Awards ceremony took place at the Benaki Museum in the Greek capital on February 24. It was organized by Boussias Communications and produced by Paturn Communications & Consulting. The honorary plaque was designed by children that are participating in the programs of ActionAid’s Epikentro center which supports people facing financial problems and social exclusion.
