Covid-19 Solidarity & social responsibility POX: Greek Hoteliers and Hospitality Employees Stand United by GTP editing team 11 March 2020 written by GTP editing team 11 March 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 19 Photo © Greek Travel Pages (GTP) The collective labor agreement for hotel employees in Greece was extended on Tuesday between the Hellenic Hoteliers Federation (POX) and the Panhellenic Federation of Catering and Tourist Industry Employees (POEET) that represents hospitality staff. According to the agreement, all hotel workers are paid according to the amount included in the collective contract. The agreement also shields the working environment in the Greek hotel market. According to POX President Grigoris Tasios, as Greece currently faces the crisis of the coronavirus, hoteliers and workers are standing together and support the Greek economy. Panhellenic Federation of Catering and Tourist Industry Employees (POEET) Yiorgos Hotzoglou and Hellenic Federation of Hoteliers (POX) Grigoris Tasios. “In a time of new uncertainty and challenges for the hotel industry (coronavirus, refugee flows) we demonstrate our responsibility to keep our business relationships regulated and at the same time aim to send a wider message to everyone,” Tasios said, adding that Greek hoteliers are standing up to the panic in order to keep Greek tourism at the highest level. “We support employment by always making the protection of public health our top priority. In difficult times we stand united,” he added. The existing collective labor agreement has been extended until August 31.
