Covid-19 Support on national & EU level Covid-19: Greek Tourism’s Crisis Management Team on High Alert by GTP editing team 12 March 2020 written by GTP editing team 12 March 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 15 The Greek Tourism Ministry on Thursday said that its crisis management team is on high alert and monitoring all developments concerning the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Greece. “The Tourism Ministry, in the context of responding to the coronavirus outbreak, is on alert and monitoring developments, recording problems, informing bodies and examining measures and proposals to support the Greek market in coordination with the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), the relevant departments and the central government,” an announcement by the ministry said. The ministry’s crisis management team for the coronavirus will: – provide valid information to the tourism market on developments, – develop a plan for the internal organization of the ministry to continue its operation, – examine a series of measures to boost the market in the short and long term (taking into account proposals from bodies such as SETE), – promote Greece as a safe destination once the conditions are considered appropriate, – remain active to gain lost ground in international markets, and – implement coordinated initiatives to tackle the coronavirus impact at a European and international level.
