Photo © Facebook – ΟΙ ΟΜΟΡΦΙΕΣ ΤΗΣ ΕΛΛΑΔΑΣ ΜΑΣ The Municipality of Athens has suspended the operation of the capital’s indoor sports facilities, creative learning centers, and cultural sites – including museums, libraries and theaters – for 15 days, in efforts to limit the spead of the coronavirus pandemic. According to the municipality, the decision aims to keep Athens’ citizens safe and is in line with the measures applied by the Ministry of Health and the National Public Health Organization against COVID-19. Athens, Greece The Municipality has suspended the operation of the following venues: Museums and cultural centers: City of Athens Technopolis in Gazi, Municipal Art Gallery in Metaxourgio, Arts Center at Eleftheria’s Park, Angeliki Chatzimichali Museum of Folk Art and Tradition in Plaka, Platonos Digital Museum at Platonos Academy, Dodecanese House in Sepolia, Melina Cultural Center in Thissio, Antonis Tritsis Amphitheater, Creative Learning Centers. A new announcement will follow regarding the tickets that have been purchased for the productions of the Olympia Theater. Libraries: Central Library at Larissa Station, Ioannios Library in Ampelokipi, Children’s Library at Larissa Station, Library For Infants & Toddlers at former KAPAPS park, Teenagers’ Library at former KAPAPS park. archive photo The Municipality has also suspended the operation of five indoor basketball / volleyball courts in the areas of Mets, Rouf, Strefi, Goudi and Grava that are operated by the Sports, Culture and Youth Organization (OPANDA).
