The Hellenic Bank Association on Tuesday announced that it is suspending the repayments of performing business loans at least until September 30.

The measure concerns Greek enterprises of sectors directly affected by the coronavirus pandemic and is part of the relief efforts to help lenders deal with the situation.

According to the association, lenders will not have to pay any principal (the amount of monthly payments) during the six-month period, but only the interest on their loans.

The association said that Greek banks are closely monitoring developments and working with the government and supervisory authorities to assist in any way possible to address the current negative situation.

Interested parties are advised to contact their banks.
