According to an announcement by Fraport Greece, both companies are donating 500,000 surgical face masks to Greece’s healthcare system which is in need of medical supplies. Each company will cover 50 percent of the donation. “The COVID-19 pandemic threatens many business sectors and will undoubtedly have severe repercussions to the global economy. However, nothing is more precious than human life. During these difficult times for humanity, it is the duty of every single one of us to rise to the occasion,” Fraport Greece said. “Our management and staff would like to thank all the health sector and civil protection employees for their service and contribution to the community.” Fraport Greece, a consortium of Germany’s Fraport and Greek energy group Copelouzos, manages and operates 14 Greek regional airports. Copelouzos Group consists of various companies, which are active in a number of business sectors in Greece and internationally. Within the airport business, Copelouzos Group, apart from the 14 Greek regional airports, has a 5 percent stake in Athens International Airport (AIA).
