Car rental company Avis will offer 250 vehicles to support the operation of the newly established mobile health units of Greece’s National Public Health Organization (EODY).

Launched on April 8, EODY’s “Special Purpose Mobile Health Units”, known as KOMY, is a network of medical professionals offering healthcare services at home on a 24-hour basis. KOMY staff also collects biological material in order to identify possible COVID-19 cases.

“By operating responsibly and offering solidarity, we contribute to the [state’s] efforts to contain the pandemc. During these difficult times, our priority is to ensure the health of our partners and customers, and effectively support efforts to confront this unprecendented crisis,” said Avis CEO Andreas Taprantzis.

EODY currently operates 500 KOMY units.

Holding a leading position in the Greek market in car rental, rent-a-car and leasing services, Avis has a network of 80 stations in Greece, and a fleet of over 38,000 vehicles.

Avis also specializes in used car sales and van rental.
