Company updates Mykonos to Welcome First Vegan Hotel in Greece by GTP editing team 10 April 2020 written by GTP editing team 10 April 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 21 Koukoumi Boutique Hotel, Mykonos The popular Greek island of Mykonos this summer is expected to welcome Greece’s first vegan hotel, the four-star Koukoumi Boutique Hotel in the village of Ano Mera. “Koukoumi” in the Myconian dialect means “a snuggling place, protected from the wind”. “The first and only vegan hotel in Greece aspires to offer a home not only to vegans but also to travelers who seek a healthy lifestyle during their vacations and want to discover the unspoiled side of Mykonos,” the hotel’s management said in an announcement. Respecting the Myconian traditional architecture, Koukoumi’s 14 boho chic suites are decorated with natural and environmentally-friendly materials. Aiming to promote recycling and sustainable practices, the hotel features Coco-mat mattresses, solar water heaters, a magnesium pool and a drainage water treatment system. Koukoumi will also offer guests many vegan gastronomy options. Curated by chef Angeliki Charami, Koukoumi’s menu will comprise of exclusively vegan and raw food recipes. The breakfast buffet will consist of handmade bread, cakes and cookies, among others, while the meals will include a variety of soups, salads, fresh pasta, vegan burgers and pizza, poke bowls and desserts. Meanwhile, Koukoumi’s Vegan Spa will feature a variety of face and body treatments, massages, and a sauna. All spa products are 100 percent natural, produced in Greece with essential oils. They are not tested on animals; do not contain any synthetic preservatives and have recyclable packaging. In addition, the hotel’s fitness center will provide guests with custom-made cross-functional training programs, as well as group programs (stretching, pilates) and outdoor activities (running, beach workout). Koukoumi has launched three special packages for its visitors –Detox, Energy Boost or Relax – which include accommodation, special vegan menus, spa treatments, and training programs.
