Covid-19 The Day After – efforts and initiatives Greek Professionals Look to ‘Learn’ from #Greecefromhome by GTP editing team 15 April 2020 written by GTP editing team 15 April 2020 0 comments Share 0FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 22 Over 1,000 Greek professionals signed up to participate in the “Learn” online seminars of the new “Greece from Home” platform during its first 10 days of operation, the Greek Tourism Ministry said recently. The platform, better known by the hashtag #Greecefromhome, was launched recently to promote Greece’s tourism brand amid the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. Launched by the ministry, the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and Marketing Greece, with the support of Google, the #Greecefromhome platform invites people from all over the world to discover Greece and stay connected with the country through photos and videos, right from the comfort and safety of their home. The platform, which is aimed at prospective visitors alongside Greeks, has three main sections: Watch – Visit – Learn. Google powers the platform’s ‘Learn’ section by offering a series of free home-based daily online group seminars for tourism professionals and their staff to upgrade their digital skills. Also, besides attending the group online seminars, tourism professionals through the platform can have a personal online training session, tailored to their business needs, with a specialized partner of Google’s Grow Greek Tourism Online program. A total of 135 private sessions have been scheduled so far. Participants will receive attendance certificates from Google and the Tourism Ministry. It is reminded that the Grow Greek Tourism Online program originally launched in 2015 to boost the Greek tourism industry with the necessary digital skills and online tools. Google’s involvement with the #Greecefromhome platform follows the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the company and the Tourism Ministry in late March 2020. The memorandum also foresees that Google offers its Grow Greek Tourism Online seminars to employees of the tourism sector. In addition, Google will provide the Tourism Ministry with research data and statistics on Greek and international tourism.
