After carefully processing thousands of reviews of visitors, the municipality’s tourism committee has prepared a multi-page analysis and developed a new logo, a slogan and a modern tourism brochure to promote a fresh concept of the island’s tourism product. According to to the municipality, the new conditions and current international trends indicate that potential travelers put emphasis on trust and their emotional ties with a destination. Therefore, Skopelos’ new logo depicts the island as a “work of art” with the slogan “a piece of your heart”. The logo’s design includes green and blue colors, with a heart in the center that resembles one of the island’s unique coastal areas that features a heart-shaped small natural port. Meanwhile, Skopelos’ new brochure looks to take travelers on a “virtual journey” around the island, which in 2008 was the filming location of “Mamma Mia! The Movie”. It features Skopelos’ beaches, villages and sites of interest, monasteries and churches, activities, traditions, gastronomy and local products. The municipality plans to present the new logo and brochure to tourism professionals after the Covid-19 travel restrictions are lifted, while the new material will be available for the production of tourism advertising campaigns. In addition, the island’s tourism committee will soon launch Skopelos’ new tourism website and has plans to activate the destination’s social media channels (facebook, instagram, twitter, printerest and youtube).
